Debbie

Debbie Mumford loves to write. She’s been writing about faeries and dragons and other fantasy creatures half her life. She writes about them for adults as herself and for tweens and young adults under a pen name.

By day Debbie works as a technical writer for a land-use planning / architectural firm, but her evenings and weekends are dedicated to helping her dreams take flight. Her short fiction has been published in various e-zines including Flash Me Magazine, KidVisions, and Dragons, Knights and Angels. In addition, she has several e-books available from Freya’s Bower and Wild Child Publishing.

Debbie also loves to read. Early favorite authors—those whose tales turned her into a compulsive reader—were Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, Madeleine L’Engle, and Arthur C. Clarke. (She has a vivid memory of choosing “Podkayne of Mars” by Heinlein from the school library when she was about ten.) Later loves included J.R.R. Tolkien, Anne McCaffrey, Piers Anthony, and Ursula K. LeGuin. These days she’s entranced by George R.R. Martin, Diana Gabaldon, Jim Butcher, J.K. Rowling, Nora Roberts, and Linda Howard.
