It’s the second day of fall –

Forget writing, what are you doing to enjoy the season?

My husband seems to react differently than me. Different timing. I spring clean, he fall cleans. Tonight I officially transferred my things from the summer straw tote to the fuschia patent leather handbag. Yesterday I wore my pink plaid bermuda shorts for the last time this year. And I have some of the first turn of apples. Yum.

What about you?

I’m excited. Fall is my absolutely favorite season. So far I’m not really feeling it. When I was deep in the heart of Texas (clap, clap, clap) it was in the nineties the whole time I was there. And New Mexico isn’t much better. I can’t feel it yet. It needs to get colder first. But I can’t wait for it. 🙂

Soon but not yet. I still have the air conditioner on, which kills the fall feel for me. But Autumn is my favorite time of year so I will get into it quickly once the nip gets in the air.

Apples. Yeah. They’re starting to hit the farmers market, and I’m considering making homemade apple sauce. The sugar pumpkins are also coming in, so I’ll work on making something yummy. Mostly fall means I need to hunt up a costume for Munchkin and prepare for Turkey Day. In fact, I ordered the turkey for said occasion already.

And then there are the leaves. we have a gajillion trees – I haven’t counted, but definitely upwards of 30. Raking will become a way of life. On the plus side, the leaves make dandy mulch, especially when mixed with compost.
