I tend to do better with my writing if the songs don’t have words.
I’ve got loads of great songs I listen to when I’m writing, but most of ’em aren’t in English. LOL!
From your list, I have Clapton, Parton, Flack and Presley in common with you. So I feel pretty safe in saying you’ve got a good list, there. 😉

I have a country station playing while I write. I usually tune out but when I come back to the real world, the music is there.

Great list. My husband just gave me an iPod for our anniversary. 🙂 I usually listen to instrumental while I write. Unchained Melody has been long favorite of mine. I would add Strangers in the Night by Frank Sinatra. My husband and I danced to that at our wedding. I’d also add My One and Only Love by John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman.

Most of the love songs I like are oldies. I do like “Lady in Red,” though, and that’s fairly recent.
Oh I LOVE so many of these songs. Country songs are good with being romantic. *sigh*
I’m a rebel. I don’t own an iPod but I have about 2GB of music on my cell phone. Lots of different things on it but Sarah Brightman is my muse.
Love me tender is one of my favorites of Elvis’s songs.

I don’t have an ipod, but this is an excellent selection of music. One of my favorite “mood” songs is “Dance With Me Slow” by Beth Nielsen Chapman. Very sensual!
