Thursday 13: romantic songs

Do you listen to music while you write? I do occasionally and agree it can help set the mood. When those romantic poignant moments come, what songs inspire you? Here are a list of 13 that I have found help me set my mind on the right path.

Breathe by Faith Hill

Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton

I Will Always Love You by Dolly Parton

Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers

First time Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack

I Believe by Diamond Rio

She’s Always a Woman by Billy Joel

Love me Tender by Elvis Presley

No Ordinary Love by Sade

Fever by Michael Buble

Amazed by Lonestar

Unforgettable by Nat King Cole

Say Nothing at All by Alison Krauss

So how about you? What’s on your iPod?

  1. Awesome list. I was listening to I Believe just this morning. Love that song. 🙂 Happy Thursday! *hugs*

  2. Jen

Oh I love all of these!!!!

  3. These are all great songs. I think my fav is Wonderful Tonight.
    Happy T13!

  4. I tend to do better with my writing if the songs don’t have words.

  5. I’ve got loads of great songs I listen to when I’m writing, but most of ’em aren’t in English. LOL!

From your list, I have Clapton, Parton, Flack and Presley in common with you. So I feel pretty safe in saying you’ve got a good list, there. 😉

    Happy TT!
    ciao!

  7. I have a country station playing while I write. I usually tune out but when I come back to the real world, the music is there.

Great list – very inspirational to get in the mood. 🙂

  8. Great list. My husband just gave me an iPod for our anniversary. 🙂 I usually listen to instrumental while I write. Unchained Melody has been long favorite of mine. I would add Strangers in the Night by Frank Sinatra. My husband and I danced to that at our wedding. I’d also add My One and Only Love by John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman.
    Happy Thursday. My 13

  9. Awesome songs, Inez! Especially #4, I loved the Righteous Bros.

Right now I am listening to hubby in the background and the TV set blaring–ugh.

To dorwn that out, I am going full metal with Pantera and Queensrhyche. lol.

Oh yeah, I can headbang. 😀

    • Meant to say ‘drown,’ not the gibberish I typed, but my fingers are still a little slippery and no—you don’t wanna know why. LOL.

  10. Most of the love songs I like are oldies. I do like “Lady in Red,” though, and that’s fairly recent.

Oh I LOVE so many of these songs. Country songs are good with being romantic. *sigh*

  12. I’m a rebel. I don’t own an iPod but I have about 2GB of music on my cell phone. Lots of different things on it but Sarah Brightman is my muse.

  13. Janice Seagraves

Love me tender is one of my favorites of Elvis’s songs.

    Happy TT.

    Janice~

  14. I don’t have an ipod, but this is an excellent selection of music. One of my favorite “mood” songs is “Dance With Me Slow” by Beth Nielsen Chapman. Very sensual!
