Why did you start writing? What made you decide to make writing part of your life?
I’ll post my answer in the comments section.

I started writing because I didn’t see enough stories about women who were like me and looked like me.
I started writing because I read a terrible book and told my roommate at the time that I could do a better job than that. She challenged me to do it, and I did. Little did I know that it would be something I would fall in love with doing.
I started writing because I loved books so much I thought it was what I was supposed to do.
I kept writing to kill/spend my time in school when I was bored with my classes. I also kept writing for the same reason you started – I wanted to see females like me on the page for a change.
I continued writing because it is truly an addiction for me. I can’t NOT write, you know what I mean?
I started writing – way back – because books were magical and I wanted to be a part of that. I starting pursuing publication – last year – because writing is my passion and I don’t want to devote 40 hours a week to something that’s not.
I started writing to entertain myself and my friends. In high school I wrote a soap opera that was supposed to only go among my friends, but ended up all over the school. A sophomore having a senior ask when the next installment was coming? Now that’s fame.
